Jeune et Jolie

A Parisian daydream set in Carlsbad, California, Jeune et Jolie is the latest project from the team behind Campfire. Situated a few blocks down from Campfire and minutes from the beach, Jeune et Jolie feels like a world away. The space, designed by Bells and Whistles, draws from modern French design and is infused with the culture’s sensibilities…with a heavy dose of Southern California woven in. While much different than the brasseries that line the streets of Paris, Jeune et Jolie features elegant banquette seating with two top tables — recalling this classic French style.

Inspired by the owners’ children (in both name and design), Jeune et Jolie has a youthful vibe infused with bright colors and features work by contemporary artists. The beautiful u-shaped bar, a centerpiece of the space, is complete with an absinthe tower and raw bar — both show stopping elements. The cocktail program boasts a variety of intriguing and creative drinks, perfect for an evening out. The ‘Liban’ or the ‘Viet Nam’ are particularly amazing. Jeune et Jolie’s menu pulls global inspiration from traditional French cuisine, but also from regions impacted by French colonization (such as the Caribbean, Vietnam and Africa). The menu is seasonally driven with vegetables and seafood taking center stage. Don’t miss the ‘Aubergine’ served over an incredibly creative sunflower miso “risotto.”

No detail is overlooked at Jeune et Jolie, from the custom cassettes playing curated music to the photogenic bathrooms. And don’t forget to look down.
