Holsem

Another North Park favorite, Holsem Coffee is known for its high quality coffee, unique beverages (think Banana Bread cold brew!) and beautiful interior decor. It is beautiful place to get some work done or catch up with friends. 

When I entered Holsem for the first time, I was taken aback by the beautiful marble and unique use of tile. The coffee bar and point-of-sale is beautiful, with mirrored marble above a row of taps for a wide variety of cold brew flavors. For those of you flavored-coffee haters, do not despair. Holsem's cold brew options are have a light finish without the murky burnt residue many flavored coffees leave behind. Another other menu favorite is "La Vie en Rose" cappuccino, a lightly flavored Rose cappuccino that is beautifully garnished. The herringbone tile on the wall is a beautiful addition to the space, occasionally interjected by unique wooden shelving that house seasonal flowers. While often busy, the seating circulates fluidly and it is often easy to find a seat. The quiet, busy atmosphere of Holsem is the perfect place to get things done. 

The artwork at Holsem, by San Diego-local Brittany Segal, perfectly suits the space with soothing colors and patterns that become pixelated and distorted. Segal's work is paired beside a carefully gathered collection of Eames shell chairs in the most beautiful green color. To put it lightly, no detail was too small for Holsem's owner, Salpi Sleiman. 

While Holsem's interior is breathtakingly beautiful, they are known for their fair-trade, and ethically sourced coffee. The seven roasts offered daily are created with pure and wholesome ingredients. The company states, "At Holsem we are all about coffee evolved where the quality of coffee and the purity of ingredients converge with high design for a wholesome mix of excitement and energy."
