Situated on a quiet street in Mission Hills, just between University Avenue and Washington Street, one can find Heartwork Coffee Bar. Heartwork is filled with unique and thoughtful details, an ode to the aesthetic and combined personalities of the owners. One such touch is the golden quote at the cash wrap: Please, please, please, let me get what I want (Via The Smiths). The space is cozy and creative, encouraging you to stay for a while. 

Run by three married couples who work the shop daily, Heartwork Coffee Bar is a place where you can truly feel the love--and the passion for the company. "We at Heartwork Coffee Bar are a family committed to serving high-quality local coffee and baked goods. We believe that you experience in Heartwork [...] is as important as your coffee..." Heartwork brews local favorites from Darkhorse Coffee Roasters and James Coffee Company, encouraging and supporting the San Diego community. 

Heartwork opened in January of 2015, filling a coffee-less void for the neighborhood of Mission Hills. Since their opening, Heartwork Coffee Bar has been warmly received. Their wide variety of unique and speciality beverages are a huge draw. My personal favorite is the Clark Griswold (such a great name) which features house-made Nutella. It is the perfect blend of sweet and creaminess. Another favorite is the Coconut Iced Tea, from Tea Gallerie.
